PRESS RELEASE - For Immediate release- 5/8/08Surf Carolina Magazine, a new full color, glossy magazine covering surfing in the Carolinas released it’s Premiere Issue this week. Focusing on just the 2 states, each issue will feature biographies on surfers, articles on coastal communities, health and fitness, travel, tips and the surfing lifestyle in general. The staff includes a collection of top surfers, photographers, writers and graphic artists from North & South Carolina.
“We are excited about providing a long overdue magazine to the people of the region. The Carolinas has much better surf than people realize and we have long been overlooked by other media outlets. The two states deserve a quality publication they can be proud of, and public acceptance has been overwhelmingly positive”, said Founder Robbie Johnson of Carolina Beach, NC.
Editor Bill Curry of Wrightsville Beach, NC added, “We have a very distinct and prospering surf culture here in the Carolinas. We are not Florida, we’re not California, we’re Carolina. Our goal is to document and showcase the people who live, work and surf here. We want people to know what a special place this is, and Surf Carolina is a vehicle that can carry that message.”
