Spy Optic is pleased announce its partnership with surf athlete and team rider Mike Losness in support of the Save Trestles campaign and the Surfrider Foundation. Five-dollar raffle tickets will be sold for an original painting of Trestles by Losness, who will draw the grand prize winner at the ASR tradeshow in September. The tickets will be offered along a month-long Southern California retail tour and on Spy Optic’s website. One-hundred percent of the proceeds from the raffle will be donated to the Surfrider Foundation.

Mike explains his personal interest this cause, “I’ve grown up surfing Trestles since I was about 12 years old, and have a lot of memories from out there. From the walk down the trail to the wave itself, I know it is special to many surfers, not just to me. I really wanted to give back to this beach and wave that has given me and other surfers so many good days. Buy a raffle ticket and help save Trestles!”

Matt McClain, Surfider’s Director of Marketing and Communications states, “It’s inspiring to see someone with Mike’s talent channeling his passion and energy back into the community. It’s obvious that Mike’s creativity extends well beyond his mind-blowing performances in the water.”

Mike’s painting will travel along the Southern California coast to participating surf shop locations. The tour will kickoff at Becker Surfboards in Huntington Beach where the painting will be displayed and five-dollar raffle tickets will be sold from July 25th–August 3rd. For anyone unable to view Mike’s painting in person along its tour, tickets will also be offered via Spy’s website.

Spy is proud to offer the opportunity to not only own this unique piece of art and surf culture, but to assist in the fight to keep our oceans clean and safe. The grand prize winner will be randomly chosen and announced at ASR, Sept 6, 2008 (raffle winner need not be present to win). Runner-up prize packages will also be awarded.
