The West LA/Malibu Chapter of the Surfrider Foundation has unveiled its remaining schedule of fundraising events for this summer and west Los Angeles county surfers, beach goers and environmentally conscious residents can all rejoice in a fun-filled final two months of their favorite time of the year.

Highlighting the events is the Sixth Annual Doo Dah Surf Day on Saturday, July 19 at Sunset Beach in Pacific Palisades. This unique surf event, which made a name for itself from participants who dress in outlandish costumes as they surf, has been a favorite amongst hundreds of west coast surfers since 2003. Celebrity emcees Charles Phoenix and his sidekick Clay “Skippy” Hillenburg will open the family-fun event with a 7:30 a.m. customary procession and paddle out with a variety of entertainment and activities to follow throughout the day, including an organized beach cleanup. Numerous prizes, including a new 9:Fish surfboard, will be raffled off with proceeds benefiting the West L.A./Malibu chapter of the Surfrider Foundation.

“The West L.A./Malibu Surfrider chapter is stoked with this summer’s lineup of events,” said Wes Negus, chapter chair. “The beaches of Los Angeles County are one of our greatest local attractions and we aim to keep them as clean as possible for everyone to enjoy.”
