A little windswell to start off the week, then better S.hemi and WNW combo shows up

Short Range Surf Forecast Overview A little more NW windswell is expected early Tuesday before it fades out through the middle of the week.  The rest of the week is going to be combo swell heaven, with decent conditions as high pressure builds over the region.  New S-SSW (180-200) starts building on Tuesday, and is [...]

Mix of W-NW swells keep some surf rolling through the weekend…more long-period swell on tap for next week.

Mix of W-NW swells keep some surf rolling through the weekend…more long-period swell on tap for next week.

We will see our wave heights dip down a bit as we move through Friday and the weekend…fortunately it doesn’t totally shut down…instead our current swell will be replaced by a mix of short-period WNW energy and some smaller long-period WNW-NW swell that will keep some rideable waves showing at the well exposed spots. Next week will be a bit more interesting, we have a couple of systems moving around Hawaii that will fire off some new swell for the early part of next week and then follow up again later in the week. Long-range charts show the NPAC starting to settle down a bit so wave heights will eventually trail off as we head toward March, however the SPAC is starting to stir to life so a few of our better summer breaks could be looking at some decent early season S swell around the same time frame.
