Central America and Mainland Mexico Short-Range Surf Forecast

SSW (200-210) eases through midweek as another smaller SSW (205-215) overlaps.  We’re expecting a potentially better pulse Friday/Saturday.  Overall small to moderate surf, but looks pretty fun.  Surf eases through early next week unfortunately.

For any of you going to be on the Nicoya Peninsula next week, give me a shout… Maybe we can meet up for a surf and a beer.

SSW (200-215) from the weekend lingers through the second half of the week.  There will be a little additional energy from the SSW (205-215) helping out, but for the most part standouts are going to be running waist to head high+ Wednesday, easing into the knee to chest high+ range Thursday and Friday.

Friday we’re expecting the next pulse of SSW-SW (210-220) to arrive.  This one could be a little bigger than Wednesday’s producing another round of waist to head high+ surf along the exposed coast, with potential for bigger sets in the overhead-overhead+ range at standouts and magnets.  Surf will ease through the weekend and first half of next week.

Tropical Outlook

Tropics looking quiet for the time being.

Costa Rica | Nicaragua | El Salvador | Southern Mexico

Long-Range Surf forecast Central America and Mainland Mexico

North Pacific Swell Forecast

North Pacific isn’t showing much of anything.

South Pacific Swell Forecast

Looking further out, the storm track continues to look zonal for the most part.  The only notable uptick in swell potential comes over the upcoming weekend as a small system takes a bit more northward of a track.

The models have been a bit inconsistent lately so don’t take this too seriuosly, but it could mean some small SSW-SW (200-220)  for around the  15th.  My fingers are crossed since I’ll be in Costa Rica during that time.  I’m going to be offline while I’m on my trip (7th-17th).  If you can/want to meet up, feel free to email me and I will try to get in contact.  Otherwise reports will resume when I get back.

Next long-range forecast expected for Tuesday the 19th of December
