Every May, the San Diego Surf Film Festival returns to overflowing venues of smiling faces, heartfelt tributes, intimate filmmaker q/as, amazing art shows, industry-leading workshops, expression sessions, beach clean-ups…not to mention the finest in international surf cinema.
This year with the ambitious schedule extending May 18-28, the SDSFF 2016 becomes one of the largest surf film festivals in the world. “Our main focus is bringing the San Diego community the best event we possibly can”, states founder and co-director Pierce Michael Kavanagh. “I imagine sitting in the third row myself as the lights dim or flipping through the program thinking what would actually blow me away. So every year we set the bar extremely high to challenge ourselves to provide a incredible experience for everybody at the SDSFF. This milestone year we are pulling out all the stops.”
As a way to thank filmmakers, the SDSFF 2016 will waive all submission fees.
“The filmmakers are the heartbeat of the SDSFF. We began the festival with the goal to reduced submission fees every year in order to help out struggling filmmakers. We are happy to announce that we have reached that goal and look forward to another amazing year of films and seeing all of you”, beams co-director Petra Kavanagh.
The San Diego community and beyond eagerly awaits the upcoming 5th Annual San Diego Surf Film Festival. May 18-28th, 2016.
