The SW swell (210-220) will continue to arrive through the day on Sunday mixing with the last of the WNW-NW energy from our local windswell and some smaller S-SW leftovers. Look for cleaner morning conditions with SE-E winds clearing the skies and grooming up the surf shape for more of our beaches.
Swell/Tide/Wind DetailsPatchy fog before 11am. Otherwise, mostly cloudy through mid morning, then gradual clearing, with a high near 67. Breezy, with a west northwest wind 15 to 20 mph increasing to 20 to 25 mph in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 30 mph.
Monday the first round of SW swell (200-220) will start to peak and shift slightly more SSW. Look for the WNW-NW windswell to back down, still putting some waves into the exposed beaches but losing size, consistency, and power as we move through the day. Winds look clean, to offshore for the morning.
Swell/Tide/Wind DetailsSunny, with a high near 69. West northwest wind 10 to 15 mph.
The mix of peaking SSW-SW swell (200-220) will hold through the day on Tuesday while the blend of short-period WNW-NW windswell continues to move in from our outer waters. Winds look like they may spin up some more eddy texture as we move through the day...not horrible, but enough to add some crumble to the more exposed spots.
Swell/Tide/Wind DetailsPatchy fog before 11am. Otherwise, mostly sunny, with a high near 62. Breezy, with a northwest wind 10 to 15 mph increasing to 20 to 25 mph in the morning. Winds could gust as high as 30 mph.
Look for the run of SSW-SW swell (200-210) to continue on Wednesday while the WNW-NW windswell (285-300 but mostly 290-300) continues to send in some playful sized energy to the well exposed spots. The Southern Hemi swell will slowly shift to a more SSW direction so expect more consistency at the S-SW facing beaches as we move through the day.
Swell/Tide/Wind DetailsPatchy fog before 11am. Otherwise, mostly cloudy, with a high near 61. Breezy.
More SSW swell (195-215) will slip down slightly on Thursday but more long-period energy will start to push in later in the day. Local windswell may get a bump as winds in the outer waters increase, but how much of it will be able to make it around the corner of Point Conception will depend on how the fetch sets up as we get closer.
Swell/Tide/Wind DetailsPatchy fog before 11am. Otherwise, mostly cloudy, with a high near 59. Breezy.
