Surf, Snow and Weather Forecasts

Our surf, snow and weather forecasts are custom-made using a combination of Human analyzed and prepared written content and automated forecasts based on our proprietary algorithms.

Surf Spot Automated Forecasts

Since our human forecasters have to sleep sometime we have transferred their brains into our servers and have produced automated forecasts for the growing number of surf spots in our list. We go above and beyond traditional wave models, that are generally focused on open ocean swells (not breaking waves), and use surf-break specific data, like swell angles and shadowing, beach orientation, and undersea bathymetry, to produce incredible accurate automated forecasts that are unique to each of the 250+ global surf locations we cover.

SKI RESORT Automated Forecasts

Our automated forecasts for Ski Resorts are custom-built to gather and create a unique, detailed analysis and forecast outlook for each specific location. These forecasts are easy to understand and navigate so that you can get the information you need to score more powder. But don’t take these forecasts as watered down fluff, underneath the surface is solid core of forecast information and data that takes a large step beyond traditional broad-scale weather updates and give you a focused look at each resort, providing forecast information for both the BASE and TOP of each mountain.

Using our proprietary forecasting technology and algorithms, that tight focus is coupled with years of snow and mountain experience to produce everything a hard-core rider could want, things like: winds, weather, temperature data at different elevations, snow amounts and more importantly snow quality throughout the resort area, (How many times have you wanted to know if it will be wet-slushy vs light and powdery?), and most importantly blue-bird alerts so you know when to blow off work and head to the hills.

Sounds good huh?

Long-Range SURF Forecasts

Our human generated Long-Range Surf Forecasts are incredible tools for planning your life around great surf sessions. Not only do they have detailed information for the next several days, our forecasters’ experience lets them analyze the long-range weather charts, remote sensing tools, and other oceanographic/atmospheric data to give you the best, easy to understand, extended range outlook on incoming swells and weather conditions. We make it easy to find “when and where” the best surf will arrive.

Currently we are updating the following areas with long-range forecasts:

  • Central California (Covers the region from San Francisco to San Luis Obispo)
  • Southern California (Covers Point Conception to the Mexico Border)
  • Mainland Mexico (Detailed forecast coverage for Southern, Central, and Northern Mainland Mexico)
  • Central America (El Salvador, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, and Panama)

Long-Range SNOW Forecasts

Our Human generated long-range SNOW forecasts custom written by forecasters who love the mountains as much as you. Using a host of tools, including our automated Ski Resort forecasts (that they helped design), they provide a broader scale look at national weather conditions, giving you the latest details on incoming storms and large scale weather patterns that will be affecting the popular snow and mountain regions. These forecasts will help you find the resort areas that you should be focusing on and help you drill down and find out if you will be scoring some fresh powered on your favorite slopes.

Currently we are updating Long-Range Snow Forecasts for the following areas:

  • Pacific Northwest (Washington, Oregon, Northern California)
  • Central Sierras (Lake Tahoe Area, Mammoth Lakes)
  • Southern California (Big Bear, San Bernardino Mountains, Mammoth Lakes)
  • Western Rockies (Utah, Idaho, Wyoming, Western Colorado, New Mexico)
